Record: 35-21, first in National Conference of a nine-team league.
Playoffs: In the CBA’s first and only single-elimination tournament, an Isiah Thomas idea, the top-seeded Thunder were blind-sided, 111-101, at The Mark by No. 8 seeded La Crosse, which finished the season 21-35.
Scoring leaders: Jeff McInnis 19.7, Jamel Thomas 19.1, Maceo Baston 15.2, Bakari Hendrix 14.3, Alvin Sims 12.1.
Rebounding leaders: Derek Hood 9.1, Bobby Martin 8.5, Baston 8.3, Hendrix 5.6.
Assist leaders: McInnis 7.7, Tyson Wheeler 5.9.
Year in review: The Thunder won six of their first seven and eight of their last 11 to finish with the best record in the league. ... McInnis was named CBA MVP despite moving on to starting point-guard job with the L.A. Clippers 41 games into the season. Thomas topped Hood for Rookie of the Year honors. Baston was runner-up to McInnis in the MVP voting and won Defensive Player of the Year honors after blocking a Thunder-record 115 shots. And Panaggio won his third Coach of the Year award. ... General manager Fred Radunzel lost his battle to cancer just weeks after the season ended.
