Jay-Z on way to best debut of '06: 850,000
Looks like it's game over for The Game's run at the top of the charts. A week after debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, The Game's Doctor's Advocate will be bounced by the man he told to beware: Jay-Z. In what should come as no surprise to anyone but Game, who boldly told Jay to "move his album away" from a release date just a week after his, the Kingdom Come comeback album is expected to sell 850,000 in its first week. Hits magazine made the prediction based on early returns, the ridiculous marketing hype and the "Black Friday" shopping factor, and that total would surpass the best bow of the year: Rascal Flatts' 714,000 units in April. By comparison, The Game sold 358,000 copies of Advocate last week. Hits estimates that Snoop Dogg will move around 270,000 copies of Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, and the latest posthumous 2Pac album, Pac's Life, will sell in the 160,000 range.
