React: Is Jay-Z's comeback a good idea?
Eminem blasts Mariah for denying relationship
Eminem took to the airwaves to once and for all clear up the confusion surrounding his past relationship with Mariah Carey. "Yes, me and Mariah did have a relationship for about a good six, seven months," Eminem said on his Sirius Satellite Radio channel, according to the Detroit News. "It didn't work. I wasn't really into what she was into; our personalities collided. She's a diva, and I'm a little more regular, I guess." Mariah has been denying a relationship since the two discussed a professional collaboration that never happened in 2001. "I can never deny her talent, but the fact that she denied we ever had something, that's bad," Eminem said. In 2002, he discussed the dating rumors with Rolling Stone. "There's truth to that. But on the whole personal level, I'm not really feeling it. I just don't like her as a person." Later that year, Carey began her denials on CNN's "Larry King Live." "I hung out with him, I spoke to him on the phone," she said. "I think I was probably with him a total of four times. And I don't consider that dating somebody." Meanwhile, Akon is taking credit for bringing Eminem out of a self-imposed semi-retirement. "Eminem told me he was getting bored with everything, which is why he took a break," Akon told London-based music site Gigwise. "But he's back working on an album and I've got some records ready for him to use on it. I know him through Obie Trice and we've talked about doing something together for so long, but our schedules made it impossible. It was our chemistry that got him out of retirement."
