React: Is Three 6 Mafia selling out?
Three 6 Mafia is ready for prime time
If Three 6 Mafia hasn't been everywhere yet, they will be by the end of the year. Since entering the mainstream conciousness with their Oscar win in March, the group has lined up a number of television and film projects in addition to previously announced collaborations with Justin Timberlake and Paris Hilton. More importantly, their new album is tentatively scheduled to hit in December. "We've got some tracks. We're still working on it," Juicy J told Billboard. "We're just trying to make sure we get the right single and the right songs that people like and can dance to. It's gonna be the same hustle. If it's not broke we're not trying to fix it. We just work and stick to our same roots, but I think our sound went
mainstream as is. We're the same old dudes, still doing the same thing and still grinding." Among the TV appearances are stints with Public Enemy's Flavor Flav on VH1's "Flavor of Love," with Hugh Hefner and his three Playboy Playmate girlfriends on E's "Girls Next Door," and on HBO's "Entourage." In addition to their own film projects, including "Choices III," they also make a cameo in the upcoming sequel to "Jackass: The Movie." Juicy J also had nothing but good things to say about Crunchy Blac, who "left the group to pursue his own solo career. We're on good terms but he's doing his own thing right now. We wish him the best of luck."
