House of Blunt: So why is Quest reuniting now?
A Tribe Called Quest reunion is on
The long-rumored, long-awaited A Tribe Called Quest comeback is finally official. The 411 Online reported in January 2003 that Phife said the reunion was in the "baby step stages." Well, it seems now -- after more than three years -- the Tribe is ready to walk. Well, tour at least. Q-Tip, Phife and Ali Shaheed Muhammad will hit the road in September as the headliners for the 2K Sports Bounce Tour. The tour is a promotion for a new video game, "NBA 2K7," which allows players to take control of Phife, Common, Flavor Flav and other MCs on the basketball court. Quest also will be featured on the soundtrack of the game, although their contribution -- 1993's "Lyrics to Go" -- is the lone remix among an album of new tracks from Ghostface Killah, Fabolous, Rhymefest and others. The 14-date tour kicks off Sept. 8 in
Las Vegas, works its way to Chicago on Sept. 15 and is expected to finish off in New York, although a date and time has not been announced.
The list of tour dates so far: Sept. 8 -- Las Vegas, NV;
