Lil' Kim released from prison
Lil' Kim's Independence Day came a day early. Kim was released from a federal detention center at 6 a.m. Monday in Philadelphia after more than nine months. Kim told her fans "I love you" as she exited with flowers, a balloon and a crowd cheering for he and carrying homemade signs. Kim began serving her 366-day sentence for lying to a federal grand jury Sept. 19, but she was released early for good behavior. "She has accepted responsibility and handled herself in an exemplary manner," Kim's attorney, L. Londell McMillan, said in a released statement. Kim isn't completely free just yet, though. She will be under house arrest for 30 days and be supervised for three years. Lil' Kim's latest album, The Naked Truth, was released in September and she had a record-setting BET reality series, "Countdown to Lockdown," that chronicled he life just before entering prison.
