Three 6 Mafia expected to answer fan's lawsuit
A lawyer for a client who sued Three 6 Mafia expects the group to answer subpoenas and appear in Pittsburgh before the end of April, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Friday. Juicy J, Crunchy Blac and DJ Paul will be deposed in a lawsuit by a fan who was injured at one of their concerts. Ramone Williams claims in his lawsuit that he was beaten at an Aug. 26, 2003, concert in a Pittsburgh nightclub. Williams alleges that during a performance of "Let's Start a Riot" he was thrown to the ground, hit with a chair and kicked in the face, resulting in a fractured jaw and other injuries. The lawsuit claims the now-defunct club and the group neglected to warn fans about potential violence, inciting the audience and failing to stop the violence. An underground success for years, Three 6 Mafia raised its national profile when it won the Oscar for Best Song for "It's Hard out Here for a Pimp" earlier this month. The trial could begin by November.
