R. Kelly leads Soul Train nominations
R. Kelly topped all nominees with three nods for the 20th annual Soul Train Music Awards, which will take place March 4 in Pasadena, Calif. Kelly will compete for best male R&B-soul album (TP.3 Reloaded), best male R&B soul single and best R&B-soul or rap music video (both "Trapped in the Closet Chapter 1"). Kelly also will be the first recipient of the Stevie Wonder award for outstanding career achievements in song writing. John Legend, who earned two nominations, will be presented with the 2006 Sammy Davis Jr. Entertainer of the Year award. Kanye West and Missy Elliott were among the other artists with two nods each. Common earned one for best R&B-soul or rap music video, one of several categories that combine hip-hop with R&B.
