HBO developing series featuring Kanye West
HBO is developing an unscripted series that will star Kanye West, but he released a statement to make it clear that it wasn't a reality series. "I wouldn't do something as cliche as a reality show," West said. "At least give me the credit for being more creative than that. It's a situational half-hour comedy. It's fictional, and loosely based on my life." Rick Rubin, the co-founder of Def Jam, and Larry Charles, director of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Borat," are working with West to produce the series. West has released two albums -- 2004's The College Dropout and 2005's Late Registration -- that became multiplatinum hits and earned him six Grammys.
